Best barber I’ve ever been to amazing customer experience this guy keeps it 1000 at all times good fast affordable cut. Not a place for weak and frail men.

One of a few true barber shops... that understands a "Regular Men's Haircut"

I called to ask about getting my sons haircut, his exact words "I dont reccomend bringing children in here, there is a lot of foul language, its walk-in only, cash only, but be my guest and come in and wait ." This was spoken to me like I was either stupid or annoying for asking. asked if he could reccomend me somewhere better for kids he said "any other barber in medina." I appreciate the honesty, and I am VERY HAPPY I took my kids to Hersheys barber shop just around the corner, but the way it was handled was terrible. This location is NOT kid friendly and I dont think its woman friendly either.
Excellent barber… Matt is efficient and you never wait long. If you can’t handle honesty or get your feelings hurt by other peoples opinions then this isn’t the place for you
Matt does a great haircut and his shop is set up like a man cave. He finishes you off with soap and a straight razor, like any legitimate barber should. He has a great audio / visual setup and plays some really good stuff. If you like that vibe and aren't easily offended, then there is truly no better place to go for a hiarcut.
Matt, I will not go back again. Been going there for many years, sent many referrals my own children, neighbors, but no more. Was disappointed as how uncomfortable you made me feel after only asking for a little less hair off the sides.
Your rude comments and negative attitude in front of a shop full of customers was uncalled for; I was embarrassed for you because when a barber asks....What do you think?? and I say looks great but can you take a little more off the sides.. comments like....."Oh well for someone that only gets few haircuts a year, I am sorry that I do not remember your preferences.."
Really??? ... and then you tell me that I am not paying for two haircuts.... I thought you were kidding....but no, you were not... you were very serious and upset that I had the courage to ask for an additional fix.

Matt you are in the people business ... if a customer is satisfied he will tell 1 or 2 people and if they are dissatisfied they will tell 20 or more. Be nice, respectful and cordial it is better for business.
I've been going to Modern Barber Shop for over 35 years. Been through the old days and the new. Matt is like a good whiskey. A bit harsh for many but to the discerning connoisseur he hits the spot. Make no mistake, this is not the barber shop for the weak of heart. Matt says it like it is and doesn't care about your hurt feelings. He's a one man show and if you leave your sensitivities at the door, you'll get a hell of a show! Sit back, relax, watch great movies (complete with surround sound and two screens) have a beer (Great Lakes on tap... if you're of age) and get a great haircut at a reasonable price. It's an old school men's barber shop. Refer to the barber shop scene in Gran Torino if you have questions on what I mean.
